Innerbeauty vs Outer beauty Essay
It is natural that God made some people naturally beautiful than others in face, color, body and in physical appearance but this is only the outer beauty that can attract anyone by its features while Inner beauty is some thing inside a person or a body, most of the times it does not show up but it exists in personââ¬â¢s heart and soul. Its something inside a person. For most people, outer beauty is easily created by means of a temporary camouflage of creams, scents, ointments, styles, and various kinds of outer wrappings. And although each one of us is entitled to look and feel as attractive as we choose, it is important to also understand that Outer Beauty, by itself, is only one minuscule aspect of our Divine Nature. If we rely upon Outer Beauty alone when we present ourselves to others, this amount do nothing more than creating a false and temporary illusion of who we truly are. The true beauty of a person is not in the face, it is the light in the heart. ââ¬Å"True beauty shi nes through, for the wise can see through the superficiality of perfect skin, or hidebound social judgments.â⬠Inner beauty for a person is to know their strengths and live with them. Confidence is a natural consequence. But it is also inspiringto see the beauty in life itself. Outer beauty is something one is born with, while innerbeauty is a gift to oneââ¬â¢s self. We may not be able to ââ¬Ëseeââ¬â¢ inner beauty in a person, but wecan definitely ââ¬Ëfeelââ¬â¢ it. A person with an inner beauty always touches people aroundthem. I nner strength is reflected in this inner beauty which comes from unconditional faith in god, courage of conviction, positive attitude and a spirit that refuses to get flattened out by the ups and downs of life. What you are when you are just being yourself, that is inner beauty. It is reflected in how one talks to members of your family or your domestic help. It is your concern for people, your understanding of them, and your sensitivity to their feelings. A person who comes close to embodying these qualities is the one who is really beautiful. One should constantly try to be a ââ¬Ëbeautifulââ¬â¢ person, reinventing oneââ¬â¢s self through lifeââ¬â¢s manifold experiences. Where as if you rely upon the appearance of Outer Beauty alone in their interpersonal relationships, usually have very little, if anything else, to bring into their relationships. And once theirà temporary and fleeting illusion of Outer Beauty finally vanishes, their unfulfilled and limited true character is all that they have left. Inner Beauty is an Untarnishable and permanent truth. It is the purest expression of beauty that the soul has to offer. While Outer Beauty is but a temporary and fleeting illusion, Outer Beauty can be used to gain instant and temporary gratification in the physical realm, Inner Beauty is Spiritual Magic which enables the person who possesses it to enjoy permanent contentment in all realms: physical, mental, and spiritual. Inner Beauty is a warm and hypnotic ââ¬Å"glowâ⬠which radiates from a magical ember that burns deep within the person who possesses it. Inner Beauty is a Divine Essence which cannot be manufactured. And, it is amazing how Inner Beauty can make an ââ¬Å"average lookingâ⬠person radiate with a magnetic glow and a heart-stopping presence. It is a permanent Quality which makes this individual interesting, desirable, trustworthy, and welcome. Conclusion Then we come to the conclusion ââ¬Å"whatââ¬â¢s beautiful? To be yourself-deeply and totally- is the essential. Not to disfigure yourself in the name of ââ¬Ëbeautyââ¬â¢ because everyone else is doing so. How can you know who you are, if you look like everyone else? Inner beauty implies that is just not outward beauty, but a kind of aura- call it spiritual or otherwise- that you have that affects you and people around you. And eventually, if you love yourself truly, you will look beautiful. What you are on the inside reflects on the outside.

On-The-Job Training at Maxââ¬â¢s Restaurant Essay
The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology is one of the courses offered in the Palompon Institute of Technology requiring a one year exposure of the student in their field of specialization in the industry. The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology can complete the academic requirements if a student will undergo a practicum or OJT. The practicum will be provided whether in public or private thus; it provides the student an opportunity in the actual field of work I the preparation for their future work. The cooperating industry will provide the necessary skills and knowledge learned in school. Through observation in the actual work, the student will become more competitive and efficient when they get a job in the future. The practicum also provides the student some important insights on management developed in modern science and technology used in advance countries. Summary As a student trainee, I need to do my best inspite of my shyness, so that Ià can be strong to face the challenges ahead of my work and maintain a good working relationship with them. They oriented me about the rules and regulation, safety guidelines, standard operating procedures. And they also taught us some tips on how to manage the restaurant properly. At first, I felt nervous in working with them. They introduce me to my co-workers. At first I was so shy, but after a few days I was able to inject jokes with them. Iââ¬â¢m so thankful to my co-workers because they helped me in my works. In fact they told that they are just like me when they were starting their job. They gave me advice and comforted me when Iââ¬â¢m sad. I was assigned at the kitchen department when the kitchen supervisor told me that I was to be in the pantry which will prepare foods and as well as portioning, tagging dates. I observed what they did everyday until I learned how to manage my own self. I really enjoyed working with the everyday. I am used to be friendly and nice to them. At first as a pantry, I was so slow in preparing food ordered and the kitchen supervisor advices me that I need to be fast in preparing orders. But still I did my job well in preparing food so that it will appear presentable and clean to the customers. My second assignment was in the Bar Station; organizing and making some dessert, drinks and others. I really enjoyed when we have other functions such as parties and take outs. I enjoyed preparing foods for the customers and I experienced these every end of the month when we are having our inventories and quality assurance inventory and when MGP are to inspect the expired foods and services extended to the customers. And I observed also if employees are on the night time to serve the order of the customers. I did my job very well in this area. Overall, in my on the job training, I was so glad that I had my training at Maxââ¬â¢s Restaurant because they were so good to me. They helped me in my work. There were so many things that I have learned from them that I can use in my future job. Problems Encountered by the OJT Having OJT is a big problem already for some students especially those whoà are taking it, because you donââ¬â¢t know where will you be going to have OJT. And you will be the one to apply for a job in the restaurant or hotels unlike other schools their instructors will be the one to guide them to their prospective places for deployment aside from the endorsement letter. In my on job training itââ¬â¢s difficult for me to cope with the new environment especially they are kapampangans. Though there is a quotation ââ¬Ëwe can please anybody but we cannot please everybody.ââ¬â¢ Since we are in the kitchen we feel the pressure in handling some co-workers. We have to be patient according to kuya Chiefs, a regular employee. They were taught something about dealing with customers and co-workers. They taught me how to build confidence that I have now in treating different people. Being patient and understanding to co-workers and customers to avoid conflicts and misunderstandings. My stay in Maxââ¬â¢s Restaurant for almost five months was really enjoyable. I am glad that I was able to gain my first working experience from a prestigious restaurant. Conclusion/ Recommendation As a college who will graduate soon, I must prepare myself to be a responsible person. One of my concern is to help students who are in the on the job training. And because my course is Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology major in Foods, itââ¬â¢s easy for me to cope with everything because it is related to my course. Having a work experience in an established and popular restaurant like Maxââ¬â¢s, I have a closer look on how things work in a busy dinning, from proper food preparation to portioning vegetables, tagging dates and organizing bar. I have learned many good experiences for my training. I am sure many students liked me especially the BSIT-Foods will find that the training in a restaurant is worth rewarding. Based on my personal experience, I will recommend Maxââ¬â¢s Restaurant as a good venue. Difficult from the start, but through hard work and patient are important virtues to improve ourselves. I kept these in mind and apply in appropriately so that if ever I ventured in my own business I can apply everything I learned into use. Hopefully my business will prosper like Maxââ¬â¢s.

Moral and Social Philosophy
Moral philosophy is focused on the habits, customs, and values of a certain individual (Wikipedia, 2007). It has the following sub-categories: meta-ethics; normative ethics; as well as, applied ethics (Wikipedia, 2007). One of the major contributors of this school of thought is Immanuel Kant who said that ââ¬Å"deontologyâ⬠holds that an act is considered to be right if it goes with the moral rule or principle (Ethical.., 2001). For example, parents will have to decide whether or not to have their children immunized. Since it is required by the law then the parents will have to allow their children to be immunized; it is the right thing to do because it goes along with the moral rule or principle (Ethical.., 2007). Social Philosophy Social philosophy is technically defined as a study which addresses dilemmas concerning social/human behaviors (Wikipedia, 2007). It covers the following areas: effects of culture, effects of science, revolution, social contract, etc (Wikipedia, 2007). Simply put, social philosophy concerns itself with moral principles as applied to problems of equality, freedom, as well as, justice (Wikipedia, 2007). One of the major contributors of social philosophy is John Locke who stated that: men are equal, free, as well as independent; thus, they possess the faculty of reason, which gives them the right to preserve their property including their life, liberty, as well as, estates (Bennagen, 2000). In addition to that, he believes that the state of nature is one that is in a state of perfect equality, freedom, liberty, and rationality but it is possible to turn into a state of war especially in cases where there exists the absence of a common judge (Bennagen, 2000). Thus, for him, entering into social contract is necessitated so as not to go through anything that is similar to the state of war (Bennagen, 2000). Last but not least, he also believes that the people have the right to resist a government that tyrannical in nature (Bennagen, 2000). Subjectivism Subjectivism is the act of making moral judgments, however, based on an individualââ¬â¢s emotion (Ethics.., n.d.). For example, in judging if something is ââ¬Å"niceâ⬠, an individual has to have a positive emotions about it otherwise it should not be labeled or declared as something ââ¬Å"niceâ⬠(Ethics.., n.d.). Advocates of subjectivism claim that since moral judgments are decided upon subjectively or basing on emotions, then individuals are fully rational during such a period (Ethics.., n.d.). The major problem with subjectivism, however, is that, since it is based on emotions, the person may all the more arrive at wrong decisions or judgments, for example, dating a nice and handsome young but married man may feel nice but that doesnââ¬â¢t mean it is moral to do so (Ethics.., n.d.). One kind of subjectivism is known as metaphysical subjectivism and one of the major contributors of the aforementioned school of thought is Descartes (Wikipedia, 2007). Egoism Ethical egoism or simply egoism is doing something to fulfill an individualââ¬â¢s own interest whether it may be good or harmful to other people (Wikipedia, 2007). Egoism does not take into consideration the well-being of others nor does it do anything to be of assistance or help to others (Wikipedia, 2007). One of the contributors of this particular school of thought is Thomas Hobbes who advocated that self-interests should be pursued and practiced so that freedom may be equal to everybody (Wikipedia, 2007). He also believes that even if there is self-interest, it is impossible that an individual may be harmed because humans are typically the same when it comes to their wants and needs (Wikipedia, 2007). Virtue Ethics Virtue Ethics is where Aristotleââ¬â¢s moral theory is taken into consideration (Ethical.., 2001). Here, it is said that ââ¬Å"an act is right if it is what a virtuous agent would do in the circumstancesâ⬠(Ethical.., 2001). Letââ¬â¢s take for instance, the case on immunization, currently, there is a dilemma with regards to having every child immunized before going to school, utilizing virtue ethics in critical thinking, parents may decide that they will allow their children to be immunized because it is not only good for their children, but it will benefit all the others as well (Ethical.., 2001). Ethical Relativism Ethical relativism is where social, personal, historical, as well as, cultural considerations are the basis of oneââ¬â¢s judgment or decision (Wikipedia, 2007). A contributor to this school of thought named Jean-Paul Sartre in fact claims that somebodyââ¬â¢s morals, if any, will be proven only if the person follows certain social norms (Wikipedia, 2007). Utilitarianism John Stuart Millââ¬â¢s Utilitarianism is built on the concept or principles of utility, which he believes is the foundation of morals (Bennagen, 2000). It holds that actions are right in proportion as they tend to promote happiness, wrong as they tend to produce the reverse of happiness (Bennagen, 2000). Happiness, according to John Stuart Mill, is equated to pleasure and the absence of pain, while unhappiness, for him, refers to pain and the privation of pleasure (Bennagen, 2000). Categorical Imperative This rationally dictates a course of action independent of whatever goals the agent may have (Encarta, 2007). By this, Immanuel Kant also meant that the moral law is categorical or that it applies to all situations, and by imperative, he meant, it is commanding, thus making it absolutely authoritative (Gaarder, 1991). Immanuel Kant stated the Categorical Imperative in two key formulations: 1) Act as if the maxim of your action were to become through your will a general natural law (Encarta, 2007), meaning, that it should apply to all people in all societies at all times (Gaarder, 1991); and 2) Act so that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in that of another, always as an end and never as a means only (Encarta, 2007). By this statement, he meant, we should not exploit others to our own advantage (Gaarder, 1991). References Bennagen, Pia. (2000). Social, Economic and Political Thought. TESTING A TOOL(FORM) FOR HOSPITALIZED PATIENTS TO PREVENT DVT Essay
TESTING A TOOL(FORM) FOR HOSPITALIZED PATIENTS TO PREVENT DVT - Essay Example Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) are the main components of VTE. According to Kahn, et al, 2007, such symptomatic events are seen in medical patients that make up sixty percent of all hospital admissions. These thromboembolic events are preventable and the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) constantly provides guidelines on the basis of updated evidence on the prevention of VTE (Kahn, et al, 2007). The latest guidelines from ACCP recommend the use of thromboprophylaxis options in the prevention of VTE among patients with moderate to high risk for VTE. There is strong scientific evidence supported by solid principles in the use of thromboprohylaxis as recommended by ACCP. Many of the hospitalized patients have one or more risk factors for VTE, which are usually cumulative. In the absence of any prophylaxis, objective evidence suggests that between ten to forty percent of patients admitted for medical illnesses or general surgery and forty to sixty percen t of those patients admitted for orthopedic surgery develop VTE. This gives strength to the relevance of thromboprophylaxis in hospitalized patients (Geerts, et al, 2004). However, Arnold, Kahn, and Shrier, 2001, claim that in spite of ACCP guidelines encouraging the use of thromboprophylaxis in the prevention of VTE, these guidelines are not always followed leading to the occurrence of VTE. Furthermore the inadequacy seen in the use of prophylaxis stems quite often from omission of prophylaxis (Arnold, Kahn & Shrier, 2001). The ACCP guidelines recommend the use of prophylaxis in the prevention of VTE, to reduce the mortality and morbidity of patients hospitalized for surgical procedures and medical illness. Yet, there is inadequacy in the use of prophylaxis in the prevention of VTE, which frequently is due to omission on the part of the physicians. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of an

Confucius- Human nature Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Confucius- Human nature - Essay Example According to Confucius, it was solely the responsibility of people to change the world they live. Human nature was an essential component in the achievement of better lives. According to Confucius, human nature is the foundation of human action. This means that the way a person behaves is entirely based on their human nature. All human beings are similar in nature, but it is their personal practices that set them apart. Therefore, human nature is subject to change depending on oneââ¬â¢s environment. Confucius is of the opinion that men are good by nature, but outward influences lead to the decay of the good nature of man. Therefore, people need to be enlightened through education to prevent them from being corrupted by negative external influences. Therefore, in order to preserve the good nature of people, education would have to be conducted using persuasion and practice. According to Rainey rightness and knowledge is a great virtue of human nature taught by Confucius (31). Confu cius believes that in order for a person to do what is right, they ought to possess the knowledge of distinguishing right from wrong. This knowledge may be inborn or it may be learned through hard work. Confucius himself claims that he was not born knowledgeable; rather, he took interest in a lot of things involving antiques and studied them carefully. This constant studying is what made Confucius knowledgeable. Another principle of human behavior according to Confucius is courage. Courage for Confucius does not only end at being brave and engaging in risky activities. Rainey (32) states that Confucius looks at courage as the ability to do what is right, regardless of the consequences. Courage in itself without moral uprightness, according to Confucius is neither good to a man nor to his fellow men. Confucius believes that a person who is courageous but lacks moral behavior continues in their wickedness. An example is a ruler who, although courageous does not know what is right, thu s brings political problems to the people. Similarly, Confucius states that a low-class man is bound to become a criminal if they have courage but have no idea about what is right. These two examples justify Confuciusââ¬â¢ claims about human nature and the opinion that courage is an ingredient for moral behavior. Another of Confuciusââ¬â¢ principles is that all men desire to be rich and to be honored and they hate being poor. However, if such wealth is not attained using lawful methods, it should not be kept. Confucius also argues that if one is forced by circumstances to be low in status and poor, they should try to avoid their status. It is as human to be poor as it is to be rich. To Confucius, not have an important position in the society is less important. What matters is whether one gets that position lawfully or not. Therefore, any person who tries to run away from poverty is in essence running away from human nature. In ancient china, monarchy was the accepted form of r ule that few dared to challenge. To this end, philosophers were very concerned about the kind of ruler who was ideal to rule china and went on to describe the desirable characteristics of a monarch. Confucius believed that a ruler should be sincere, just, morally upright, and have good social relationships. These aspects of an individual are what
Should English be the official language in the United States Essay - 1
Should English be the official language in the United States - Essay Example Instituting English as a national language would not have effects on what people spoke on daily lives. It only applies when individuals are conducting official duties and they can be punished for conducting official matters in any other language other than English (Liu and Sokhey 2). This means that individuals can continue to converse in their preferred language in their personal settings, but only hold onto English for official or public speaking. In contrast, there is the issue of that if English was a unifying factor as many claim, then the native English speakers who spurred the American Revolution could not have done that if it were the case. This is regarding that English language has been the language of communication in America for the longest time now. Moreover, instituting language as the official language would act as a disadvantage for the no-English speakers in the US including the international students. Considering that conducting any official language in any other language other than English could be punished, and then these individuals would have to stay out of public or official matters for a while before they learn how to communicate in English. In addition, making English an official language could lead to the banning of other languages learned in schools including German or French. The reason is that there would be no use of such languages other than if an individual is willing to work in other foreign countries.

Law for the Built Environment Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words
Law for the Built Environment - Essay Example 1.Professional Negligence: In Blemain case, it was held that where a professional employing his decision and skill fails to accomplish his obligations as per the standards anticipated from him, then he will be accountable for negligence. Under English Law, a valuer cannot be found to be fault for deriving an outcome which does not acknowledge some magnitude of error as held in Friedlander Ltd case. If a professional valuation is subjective in nature but deviation of more than ten percent to fifteen percent will be suggesting that there has been professional negligence as held in the above Friedlander case. Despite the fact that a valuation figure has been arrived at by an incorrect approach, or in the application of the approach, if, nevertheless, an acknowledgeable value has been arrived at, there may not be any adequate corroboration of actionable negligence since, in actual fact, no loss might have been borne on footing upon the decision held in Mount Banking Corp case. In Kenney case , an estate agent was held accountable for overstating negligently the value of a clientââ¬â¢s home. ... It is to be cautioned that coveyance deed executed between the Most Noble Bernard Marmatluke Duke of Norfolk ââ¬â( seller) and the buyer the Public Trustee and Henry Hardwick & Sons Limited on 31st July 1867 states that Matilda property was jointly owned by a public trust and Henry Harwick. It is unclear how land held by a public trustee jointly with Henry Hardwic & Sons Ltd can be later transferred by Henry Hardwick & Sons Ltd alone to Majesty Pony & Trap Services Ltd (buyer) on18th March 1911. In 1911, conveyance was made to Majesty Pony without the consent or authorisation of the Public trustee. Thus , a public trust is one, which owns inviolable privileges in some lands and in spite of the title ownership and that the government keeps some rights in such lands in trust for the public. Hence, transfer of title of land of Matilda property subsequently itself is void. As such, it is suggested to take appropriate legal opinion in this aspect before buying the Matilda property. 1. 2 Professionalââ¬â¢s personal Liability A personal duty of care is owed by a professionally qualified person who is tendering advice in his field of expertise to the person who relied on his advice as held in Merret case. The builder and the designer could be held accountable under professional negligence for employing construction materials, which proved to be not suitable or harmful to health under the s1 of the Defective Premises Act, 1972. Further, under s6 of the Health and Safety Works Act, 1974, there is duty imposed on manufacture of a product to make sure its safety for its usage at any work. Under s12 of the Buildings Act, 1984, quality construction materials should be used otherwise,
